Arrival: welcoming the children and asking how they are doing while they are settling in.
Breakfast (provided by me), meeting together to talk with one another; connecting and bonding.
Morning Group Circle: story time, music time, and prayer. Teacher-lead, with the teacher engaging the children in every aspect of our time together, but importantly, the children are involved as much as possible.
Activities Outdoors or Indoors (including a short brake for a snack, provided by me, and having a drink in between).
Lunch Time (provided by each family): another time of enjoying each other’s company.
Quiet Time: reading or other quiet activities, children who need a nap can nap. Can be less time or even no quiet time at all depending upon the children’s needs.
Activities Indoors or Outdoors.
Evening Snack (provided by each family): discussing the day we had and the coming day and ending with prayer.
It is challenging for young children to be separate from their parents. Having the the main meals at the same time gives them a structured day and creates a sense of security and comfort 🙂
The Morning Group Circle may be shorter or longer occasionally, depending on the circumstances. If the children are really enjoying it, we might extend it, but if they are eager to do something else, we can shorten it.
New materials and themes will be introduced in an environment adapted to the children’s needs and interests. The children can choose what they want to do, and how, at their own pace.
